How proficient in yoga do I have to be to do the 200-hour training?
You are to have a minimum of 1 year of a consistent yoga practice before enrolling in our teacher training program. We want to make sure that students have a basic foundation in the primary yoga postures before learning how to teach.
What if I don’t want to become teacher?
Our 200-hour training is ideal for those who want to delve deeper into the study of yoga and to improve their own practice. It's also a great program for students who want a transformational experience through yoga, the science of self realization. Being a student around others committed to yoga puts you where you will thrive at all levels.
What if I have a chronic injury or condition?
We recommend that you check with your physician and then talk with Marcee. Everyone must sign a waiver stating that they are physically able to take this training. Many physical limitations can serve as helpful demonstrations to learn to work with students with similar limitations and challenges.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
As size of enrolment is limited, a $300 deposit is due upon enrollment to hold your spot. If you cancel 30 days before the start of the program you will forfeit $100 of your deposit and the remaining balance will be refunded. If you cancel 14-29 days before of the start of the program, you will forfeit your entire deposit. These fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you cancel within 14 days before the start of the program or do not attend the program, the entire deposit and any paid program tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable. Once the program begins, the program tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable.
What are the 200-hour graduation requirements?
In order to graduate from this training you must be paid in full and fulfill the following requirements:
• Attendance at in-class and online teacher training sessions
• Successful completion of homework assignments, quizzes, in-class and take-home final exam.
• Participation in a final in-class practice teaching practicum
Do I get a discount on classes at the studio during this training?
Yes. When you enroll for this training, you will have a 10% discount on all regularly scheduled classes for 10 months, starting on the first day of your training. This discount does not include workshops or other events.
What is the make-up policy?
Yoga Alliance requires that you complete all 200 hours of the teacher training. However, we understand that sometimes conflicts come up, and we have developed the make-up policy listed below. Please note that you can miss a maximum of 40 training hours, and you will have one year from the last day of your program to complete your attendance requirements. If you miss more than 40 hours or do not complete your make up hours within one year, you will receive a “not passing” status.
You have the following option for making up your missed time:
You can schedule a private session at some point during the program. The cost of an hour and a half private session is $85.
• 1.5 hour private = 5-6 hours of missed time
What does the The Yoga Alliance approval mean?
Yoga Alliance is an organization that was started in 1999 as a way to create nationally recognized standards for yoga teachers and yoga teacher trainings in the US. More and more yoga studios across the country are requiring their teachers to register with the Yoga Alliance, either at the 200-Hour or 500-Hour level. Yoga Alliance registration, however, is not a legal requirement for teaching yoga. Currently there are no legal certification requirements to be a yoga teacher. This training is approved at the Yoga Alliance 200-Hour level.
Will I feel qualified to teach yoga once I complete this
teacher training program?
Yes! With the successful completion of all the requirements of the Empower Your Potential Training, you will receive your Letter of Completion and your Diploma validating your training at the 200-Hour Level. You may also register with the Yoga Alliance (www.yogaalliance.org) at the RYT-200 level (Registered Yoga Teacher 200).
Will I be invited to teach at Fountain of Health Yoga Studio?
FHYS seeks a diverse, committed, and well-trained faculty who uphold high standards. The process to teach at FHYS starts with your interest and talking with Marcee. Special consideration is given to graduates of the 200-hour FHYS Teacher Training.
